Dance is not a competition, it’s a passion
JHM Dance Academy is an established professional dance school located in Broxburn, West Lothian.
Established in 2003 by Joanne Hamilton Martin, JHM Cheer September 2008. Staffed by qualified teaching staff and backed by a wide range of assistance and service staff, JHM offers a complete range of dance instruction for children and adults of all ages.
At JHM we believe dance should be fun! We don’t require that all students follow a rigorous examination path but offer this an option. If you have fun at JHM that’s good enough for us.
Some specific disciplines we teach include:
Ballet – JHM teaches the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and IDTA syllabus.
Modern Jazz, tap, Theatre Craft, Freestyle Disco and Musical Theatre – set grade exams are delivered through qualified staff with the International Dance Teachers association (IDTA).
Acro – IDTA Acro Dance & Acrobatic Arts
Contemporary – iD-Dance Syllabus founded by Ryan Jenkins

The Dance Room
It’s leisure all the way in our new dance and cheer studios and communal leisure area. Our waiting areas have space for everyone with our fully stocked vending machines serving hot drinks, snacks and soft drinks. Perfect for a coffee and catch-up with friends, a great space for our parents and students in our large, child-friendly communal area.
Our custom-built dance studios are bright and airy and are well equipped with mirrors and ballet barres. We offer an extensive range of classes across many forms of dance and fitness for adults and children from age 3. See our schedule for the full listing. You will be amazed at our dedicated Cheerleading studio – it has a full sprung floor providing an excellent area for students in cheer, gymnastics and tumble classes.
We are affiliated with RAD, ISTD, IDTA, UKA, iD-Dance.

JHM Dance Academy offers training of the highest standard developing a strong classical ballet technique whilst enhancing pupil’s natural co-ordination and musicality.
Through all our staffs love and passion for dance we hope to instil this in each pupil enabling them to continue a life filled with dance, movement and music.
At JHM we aim to promote safe, happy and friendly classes where pupils can reach their highest potential backed by immensely dedicated and encouraging proud teachers and coaches.
