This year JHM were nominated for awards and became finalists in both the Scottish Business Awards and the Scottish Dance Awards 2025!
First up was the Scottish Business Awards – Edinburgh! Where JHM was awarded ‘Best Training and Education.’
Jo and Julie proudly represented us at the awards ceremony, and it was such a special evening. To have our efforts recognised on such a respected platform is not just a win for us—it’s a win for the entire JHM family: staff, students, parents, and supporters who share our vision and values.
This incredible achievement is a reflection of the dedication, passion, and tireless commitment of the entire JHM Dance team, who go above and beyond every single day to create a nurturing, inspiring, and high-quality environment for every dancer who walks through our doors. From comprehensive teacher training and student skill development to our Assistant Teacher Programs and exam preparation for young dancers, JHM is built on the belief that dance education is not just about steps—it’s about confidence, discipline, creativity, and opportunity.
Up next was the prestigious Scottish Dance Awards! We are thrilled to announce that JHM won “Excellence in Dance Teacher Training”, a massive win for JHM and a celebration of everything we stand for.
On this occasion Julie and Rebecca attended the awards ceremony, celebrating alongside so many incredible dance schools from across Scotland. Although Miss Martin was due to attend, she was called to Newcastle as part of her exciting new role as a Trainee Examiner – another milestone we’re so proud of!
At JHM, we’re deeply committed to developing the next generation of outstanding dance educators. From Teaching Assistants and Future Teacher pathways, to IDTA Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications, CBTS mentorship, and beyond — we strive for nothing less than excellence. A special highlight of our teacher training journey is Scottish Dance Teacher Training (SDTT), created by Joanne, which delivers high-quality Level 4 dance education to aspiring teachers across the country.
